The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024 is scheduled to span over a month, running from June 8th to July 13th, featuring 8 competing teams.
The 12th season of the DIFF, themed "Made in Unity – Connecting Continents – Sparkling Year of Cultures," is proudly presented by Sun Group, serving as the collaborating, sponsoring, and organizing entity. The event will take place at the fireworks stage by the Han River with 8 participating teams for 5 weeks. Seven international teams from France, Italy, the United States, Germany, Poland, China, and Finland will compete alongside the representative team from Vietnam, originating from Da Nang. Especially, Germany, China, and the United States will make their debut appearances at the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival this year.
The first night of DIFF 2024 will kick off on the evening of June 8th under the theme "Made of Unique Culture" featuring the opening performance between the Vietnamese team and the reigning champions of 2023 – France. Subsequent nights will witness competitions between the Italian and American teams on June 15th, themed "Natural Masterpiece"; the German and Polish teams on June 22nd, under the theme "Magical Love"; and the Chinese and Finnish teams on June 29th, themed "Enchanted World." The grand finale is set for July 13th, named "Made of Young Generation". As in previous seasons, each fireworks team will have 20-22 minutes to showcase their performance.
This year, the championship team will receive $20,000, a trophy, and a certificate. The runner-up will be awarded $10,000, along with a trophy and certificate. DIFF 2024 continues to uphold the Audience's Favorite Award, determined by public voting, valued at $5,000.
Organizers expressed that this marks the 12th time the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival has lit up the banks of the Han River. "With the theme 'Connecting Continents – Sparkling Year of Cultures,' this year's international fireworks festival conveys a message of a peaceful, friendly, humanitarian world, celebrating values that inspire the community," shared a representative of the organizing committee.
In addition to the fireworks displays, DIFF 2024 will feature a series of accompanying events ranging from exhibitions to artistic performances across Da Nang. Various famous tourist destinations in Da Nang such as Sun World Ba Na Hills, and Asia Park, among others, will host numerous festivals and artistic events during the international fireworks season this year. To launch the 2024 fireworks season, the city plans to treat visitors to a show featuring adventurous sports artistry with Jetski & Flyboards performances by Australia's H2O producer.
In the Da Nang International Fireworks 2023, DIFF emerged as a key event drawing tourists to Da Nang. The organizing committee anticipates that DIFF 2024 will continue to be a highlight event, contributing to making Da Nang a central point during the summer tourist season, a "premier event destination" as recognized twice by the World Travel Awards in the past.
