1. Hot air balloon ride

2. A zip-line adventure
One of the best things to do in Vang Vieng is to enjoy a series of adventurous activities in their zip-line parks. A zip-line trail can spread kilometres long, and ziplining through the forest of Vang Vieng is a highlight. Before taking a zip-line trail, you will need to go through a comprehensive security course and the guides will check all the conditions carefully, observe to take good care of the participants.
 
3. Water tubing down the river
Almost everyone has heard about the famous water tubing and how exciting it is. All you have to do is just floating down the river in a tube, enjoying the scenery along the way and relaxing. It’s safe and the security conditions are guaranteed.
To enjoy water tubing, you can choose one of these two options. You can either join a tour with a travel agency. This option is often combined with other activities such as kayaking or climbing. If you want a bit more upbeat experience and a taste of the party scene, you can do it yourself.
- Rent a tube at one of the offices in town. The cost is approximately USD 5 per tube, and you will also have to pay USD 5 for the deposit. This one is returned to you if you deliver the tube back before 6 pm.
- Jump on a tuk-tuk and pass 3km down the Nam Song River to the starting point of the tubing trail.
- Throw your tube in the water and start floating.
- There are 2 bars along the river which you can stop at and enjoy various foods and drinks. And of course, make some new friends as well.

4. Rent a buggy – a highlight during your 3 days in Vang Vieng
You can rent your buggy at several offices in town. They are easy to find, just walking along the streets and you can find one. You will be provided with a map, and from there you can drive everywhere. The most popular routes are the 5 lagoons, where you can swim and enjoy the lagoons. You can also drive to one of the caves, or to the starting point of the hiking treks to enjoy some spectacular views.
TIP! You’d better book one of the bigger buggy’s, as they are more comfortable, and much more fun than the smaller ones. Also, choose suitable clothes, cause you might have to throw them away after since we had road dust all over.
 
5. Go swimming in one of the lagoons
The most relaxing activity is to go swim in one of the lagoons around town. There are 3 lagoons that all are accessible as a packaged tour. However, you can also venture out on your own and visit all 5 lagoons in Vang Vieng. To do so, you can either rent a buggy, go by tuk-tuk or rent a bicycle to get there.
