Your day begins with an eye-opening visit to the legendary Cu Chi Tunnels, located about 70 kilometers northwest of Ho Chi Minh City. Originally built in 1948, this extensive underground labyrinth served as a crucial base for the Viet Minh during the resistance against the French, and later as a shelter, living quarters, and strategic command post during the American War.

At Cu Chi, you’ll descend into the tunnels to explore hidden chambers, including secret passageways, Hoang Cam smokeless kitchens, field hospitals, weapon workshops, and command bunkers - all ingeniously carved into the earth. Despite relentless bombings, these tunnels stood firm, offering a vivid reminder of the resilience and ingenuity of the Vietnamese people. Since 1988, two tunnel sections have been opened to visitors.

After returning to the city, your afternoon is dedicated to discovering the rich cultural and architectural highlights of Ho Chi Minh City:
Reunification Palace, a lasting symbol of peace and history
Notre-Dame Cathedral and the historic Central Post Office, remnants of French colonial elegance
Ben Thanh Market, the city’s bustling soul, alive with flavors, souvenirs, and local life

In the evening, return to your hotel in the city center to relax and recharge—tomorrow brings even more to explore.

This morning, leave behind the bustling streets of Ho Chi Minh City for a scenic two-hour drive southwest toward the lush and fertile Mekong Delta, famously known as Vietnam’s “rice bowl.” Upon arrival, you’ll board a traditional boat to begin your journey through a network of canals winding past tropical islets and fruit-laden orchards.

Cruising along the Vam Xep Canal, you’ll reach a peaceful island where a gentle walk under the shade of coconut palms introduces you to rural life at a slower, timeless pace. Stroll past quiet villages and rice paddies that reflect the essence of the Delta’s charm.

Next, visit a local bee farm, where you’ll enjoy fragrant honey tea and taste freshly picked tropical fruits in the warm hospitality of local families. A stop at a coconut workshop showcases how residents transform coconuts into a variety of traditional products by hand.

Then, hop on a horse-drawn cart to ride deeper into the countryside, where you’ll visit a handicraft village and a coconut candy factory, witnessing age-old techniques still practiced today. Take a break and enjoy a live performance of Đờn ca tài tử, the soulful Southern folk music recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage.

Before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City, relax with a serene sampan boat ride through palm-fringed waterways, followed by a delicious lunch at a riverside restaurant, offering a true taste of Mekong cuisine.
