Once the capital, Yangon remains Myanmar’s most dynamic hub — home to tree-lined boulevards, colonial buildings, colorful markets, and sacred temples.
Visit the Yangon Post Office, Sule Pagoda, Strand Hotel, Mahabandoola Garden, and Independence Monument. Continue to Bogyoke Market, a lively spot filled with local handicrafts, gems, and textiles, then enjoy a cup of Burmese tea at a traditional teashop.

Next, explore Kandawgyi Park and admire the stunning Karaweik Hall, a royal barge replica on the lake. Visit Chauk Htat Kyi Pagoda, home to a 66-meter reclining Buddha.
End your day at the world-famous Shwedagon Pagoda, glowing with 40 tons of gold leaf — a truly breathtaking sight at sunset.
Return to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

The golden rock, Myanmar

After breakfast, drive northeast from Yangon to the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, popularly known as the Golden Rock.

Located atop Mount Kyaiktiyo, this sacred site features a massive boulder covered in gold leaf that miraculously balances on the edge of a cliff. According to legend, it is held in place by a strand of Buddha’s hair, making it one of Myanmar’s most revered pilgrimage destinations.

Arrive at the base camp by late morning and take an open truck up the winding mountain road, followed by a short walk to the pagoda. Wander around the temple grounds, absorb the spiritual atmosphere, and enjoy breathtaking mountain views — especially magical at sunrise or sunset.

Wake up early for sunrise over the Golden Rock before heading back to the base camp and driving toward Bago, also known as Pegu.

Once the capital of the Mon Kingdom, Bago is rich in history and Buddhist heritage.
Visit the Shwe Tha Lyaung Pagoda, housing a 55-meter reclining Buddha; the Kyaik Pun Pagoda, featuring four giant seated Buddhas; and the Kanbawzathadi Palace, a reconstruction of the grand royal residence.
Explore the ancient Shwemawdaw Pagoda — the “Golden God Temple” — with its 114-meter golden stupa, the tallest in Myanmar.
Stroll through a bustling local market before heading back to Yangon, stopping at the Htaukkyan Allied War Cemetery, the final resting place for Allied soldiers of World War II.
Arrive in Yangon and enjoy your evening at leisure.

Tour price: Travel Authentic Asia focus on quality and affordable package prices with the best value. The price is based on number of traveler taking the trip, the accommodation category you wish to stay, the mode of transportation, meals provided….

Payment: A deposit of 30% of total price is needed to initiate the tour booking after the itinerary is finalized. The balance for the trip is due 15 days prior to your arrival.

Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the duration of the trip. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of the correct visas, permits and certificates for your trip. Travel Authentic Asia accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the failure of clients to obtain appropriate documentation.

Travel insurance: It is your responsibility to get your own international travel insurance and read the insurance policy before you travel and ensure that the insurance scheme provides with the requisite level of cover. Insurance should cover personal accident and medical expenses, evacuation and repatriation, baggage loss, and cancellation or curtailment of vacation. In some cases, travelers may have pre-existing medical conditions which their travel insurance company will not cover.
Other than local travel insurance(s) included in sightseeing tickets at sites, Travel Authentic Asia does not provide any kind of travel insurance on the trip except required and paid separately from the tour price.
