Day1

Hanoi – Lao Cai

This day you are free, so you'll have time to choose optional activities in Hanoi such as Hanoi city tour, street food, cooking class, etc. You will get all related documentation for your trip while waiting for departure.
In the evening, you will get picked up from hotel to Hanoi Train Station for the overnight train to Lao Cai, time depends on train schedule – normally 8.00PM or 9.30PM. You will be in shared AC soft sleeper cabins. The train will take around 6 hours to get to Lao Cai city. Sleep well and ready for next day in Sa Pa.

Day2

Lao Cai – Sa Pa

Upon your early morning arrival in Lao Cai, a border town, you will be picked up and driven up the hill for an hour through a stunning landscape of clouds and unspoiled nature to reach Sa Pa. Once you arrive in Sa Pa, you can freshen up with a wash and enjoy breakfast at the hotel's restaurant.

After breakfast, you can store your luggage and take a gentle trek downhill along the Muong Hoa River. This path offers breathtaking views of the mountains, forests, and terrace fields that stretch along the hill slopes. During the trek, you will have the opportunity to interact with the local hill tribes, including the H'mong and Dzay people, as they go about their daily lives, work, and play. You can take beautiful photos to add to your collection.

Continue trekking downhill until you reach the villages of the H'mong and Dzay people. The trek concludes at noon, and you will be picked up by car and driven back to Sa Pa.

Later in the afternoon, after taking a break, you will take a short drive to the other side of Sa Pa town, from where you will take a walk to visit Ma Tra village of the H'mong people, situated in a picturesque valley. You will then return to Sa Pa by car and have some free time in the evening to do as you please.

You will spend the night in a hotel in Sa Pa.

Sapa – Lao Cai – Hanoi

After breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and proceed to a local market by car. Depending on the day of the week, you may visit Coc Ly on Tuesday, Cao Son on Wednesday, Lung Khau Nhin on Thursday, Can Cau on Saturday, or Bac Ha on Sunday. These markets are organized by and for the minority people living in the mountainous areas, where they come to sell, buy, meet friends, and find partners. You will see various hill tribe groups such as Flower Hmong, Phu La, Dao, Tay, Nung, etc. gathering at the market. It is an amazing experience to see the vibrant colors, understand the traditions, and feel the atmosphere. The market offers a variety of local products, including colorful embroidery, handicrafts, and daily necessities. You can also witness an animal market, where people sell, buy, or barter animals such as dogs, pot-bellied pigs, cows, buffaloes, and more.

After lunch, you can take a short walk to a hill-tribe village. Here, you will visit some local homes to gain insight into their daily life, culture, and traditions. Later, you will head back to Lao Cai city by car.

You will have dinner in Lao Cai before taking an overnight train in an AC soft sleeper cabin back to Hanoi.

Payment:A deposit of 30% of total price is needed to initiate the tour booking after the itinerary is finalized. The balance for the trip is due 15 days prior to your arrival.

Arrival and departure flights:You are advised to make your own booking for international flights from/back your home country. Weather: The weather in this part of Southeast Asia is varied depening on the region and season. In the winter time from Nov to Feb, the temperature in some area such as North Vietnam, especially mountainous areas can be as low as 2-4 Degree Celsius (35 Degree Fahrenheit) and pretty cold. Other parts can be warm with temperature up to 36 Degree Celsius or more (96 Degree Fahrenheit). What to take: What you need to bring will vary according to the trip style you have chosen, the countries you are visiting and when you are travelling. Generally speaking you should pack as lightly as possible. It is advisable to have your backpack or suitcase with wheels. An overnight bag with a shoulder strap or little backpacks is convenient to carry water and a camera etc for day trips. Warm clothes and light jacket are needed for the North Vietnam and northern Lao during the winter time from November to March. Sunblock, swimsuits and a light raincoat is advised all year round.
