Today's itinerary doesn't have any planned activities. However, you will receive all the necessary documentation for your trip while you wait for the departure.

Later in the evening, depending on the train schedule, typically between 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Hanoi Train Station for the overnight train journey to Lao Cai. You will be sharing the air-conditioned soft sleeper cabins, and the train ride will take approximately 6 hours to reach Lao Cai city. Have a good night's sleep and be ready for the next day's adventure in Sa Pa. You will be spending the night in a soft sleeper compartment on the train.

Upon your early morning arrival in the border town of Lao Cai, you will be picked up and driven uphill for about an hour through breathtakingly pristine and cloud-covered landscapes to reach Sa Pa. Once in Sa Pa, you can freshen up with a wash, and breakfast will be served at the hotel restaurant.

After breakfast, you can store your luggage and embark on a light trek downhill to visit the Cat Cat and Sin Chai villages of the Black H'mong people. These villages are located in a picturesque valley, against the stunning backdrop of the Fansipan mountain. The trek provides an excellent opportunity to meet and talk with locals and learn about their way of life and traditions. You can take advantage of this chance to interact with the locals and capture beautiful photos to fill up your album.

Later in the afternoon, after a break, you will take a short drive to the other side of Sa Pa town, where you will embark on a walk to visit the Ma Tra village of the H'mong people, which is located in another beautiful valley. You will then return to Sa Pa by car and have the evening free to enjoy at your leisure.

After having breakfast, you can check out of the hotel and store your luggage. Then, embark on a light trek downhill along the Muong Hoa River, which offers breathtaking views of the natural scenery, including mountains, forests, and terrace fields along the hill slopes. Along the trek, you will encounter locals from several hill tribes with their unique appearance and colorful dress, going about their daily activities. This provides an excellent opportunity for local interaction and capturing beautiful photos for your album.

Enjoy a picnic lunch on the hilltop, surrounded by pristine nature. Then, continue the trek further down to visit the Lao Chai minority villages of the H'mong people. You can visit some of the local homes there and then walk along the village path to reach Ta Van village of the Dzay people. The trek will end, and you can check into a homestay, freshen up, and relax or wander around the village for more local interaction.

You will have dinner and spend the night in the homestay.

After breakfast, bid farewell to your hosts and take a scenic drive to a local market. Depending on the day, you will visit Coc Ly on Tuesday, Cao Son on Wednesday, Lung Khau Nhin on Thursday, Can Cau on Saturday, or Bac Ha on Sunday. These markets are organized by and for minority people living in mountainous areas. Locals come here to sell, buy, meet friends, and even find partners. You will witness an array of hill tribe groups, such as the Flower Hmong, Phu La, Dao, Tay, Nung, and more, all gathered together in a colorful and lively atmosphere. The market offers a diverse range of local products, including vibrant embroidery, handicrafts, and everyday necessities. You can also explore the animal market, where people sell, buy, or barter animals like dogs, pot-bellied pigs, cows, buffalos, and more.

After a delicious lunch, take a short walk to a nearby hill-tribe village. Here, you can visit some local homes and gain a deeper understanding of their daily life, culture, and traditions. Afterwards, you will drive back to Lao Cai city for dinner before boarding the overnight train in an AC soft sleeper cabin back to Hanoi.

Payment:A deposit of 30% of total price is needed to initiate the tour booking after the itinerary is finalized. The balance for the trip is due 15 days prior to your arrival.

Arrival and departure flights:You are advised to make your own booking for international flights from/back your home country. This allows you to determine better the travel time frame, budget and to deal with insurance claim when needed. Travel Authentic Asia team will base on your flight schedule to work out the best itinerary for you or/and to modify the itinerary to get it matches.

Travel documents:You must carry a valid passport and have obtained all of the appropriate visas, permits and certificates for the countries in which you will visit during your trip. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the duration of the trip. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of the correct visas, permits and certificates for your trip. Travel Authentic Asia accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the failure of clients to obtain appropriate documentation.

Travel insurance:It is your responsibility to get your own international travel insurance and read the insurance policy before you travel and ensure that the insurance scheme provides with the requisite level of cover. Insurance should cover personal accident and medical expenses, evacuation and repatriation, baggage loss, and cancellation or curtailment of vacation. In some cases, travelers may have pre-existing medical conditions which their travel insurance company will not cover.

Weather: The weather in this part of Southeast Asia is varied depening on the region and season. In the winter time from Nov to Feb, the temperature in some area such as North Vietnam, especially mountainous areas can be as low as 2-4 Degree Celsius (35 Degree Fahrenheit) and pretty cold. Other parts can be warm with temperature up to 36 Degree Celsius or more (96 Degree Fahrenheit). What to take: What you need to bring will vary according to the trip style you have chosen, the countries you are visiting and when you are travelling. Generally speaking you should pack as lightly as possible. It is advisable to have your backpack or suitcase with wheels. An overnight bag with a shoulder strap or little backpacks is convenient to carry water and a camera etc for day trips. Warm clothes and light jacket are needed for the North Vietnam and northern Lao during the winter time from November to March. Sunblock, swimsuits and a light raincoat is advised all year round.
