Vietnam's Stunning Caves Earn High Praise from CNN

CNN, a US-based multinational news channel, had praised nine caves in Vietnam for their breathtaking natural beauty. This recognition has put Vietnam's stunning caves on the map, and it is expected to attract more visitors to the Southeast Asian nation.

The caves that received the highest accolades were located in Quang Binh province. Six of them were rated as world-class by CNN: Son Doong, En, Va, Nuoc Nut, Tu Lan, and Thien Duong (Paradise) caves. These caves are known for their remarkable geological formations, such as underground rivers, massive stalagmites and stalactites, and awe-inspiring caverns.

Tam Coc cave, located in the northern province of Ninh Binh, and Sung Sot cave and Luon cave, both located in the northern province of Quang Ninh, were also recognized by CNN for their beauty. Tam Coc cave is a system of limestone caves formed by the Ngo Dong River, while Sung Sot cave and Luon cave are part of the stunning Ha Long Bay.

CNN's recognition of Vietnam's caves is a significant boost for the country's tourism industry, which has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the World Tourism Organization, international tourist arrivals to Vietnam decreased by 78% in 2020, compared to 2019. However, with CNN's commendation of Vietnam's caves, there is hope that tourism will soon recover, particularly in areas that are known for their natural beauty.

CNN's report also highlighted that there are still many undiscovered caves in Vietnam, with only 30% of the area explored so far. A member of the British Royal Cave Research Association, quoted by CNN, stated that his team had surveyed over 500 caves in Vietnam. However, they have only scratched the surface of the country's underground wonders, and there are many more caves waiting to be explored.
