Myanmar weather in June is the rainy season, with high moisture and hot weather. The average monthly temperature can be up to 33 degrees Celsius. Particularly in the area of Golden Rock Temple, the weather on the top of the mountain all year round is cold (about 15oC-20oC) with rain, clouds and fog.

June is the onset of Southeast monsoon winds and monsoon storms also occur. In the coastal area and Mandalay city, there are showers and the temperature reduces.

In the south represented by Yangon, it rains day and night, the weather is comfortable and cool, while in the Central and Northern regions, represented by Naypyidaw Capital and ancient capital Mandalay and Bangan, it rains very little.

Yangon - Pleasant raining season

In Yangon, the weather now is a bit cooler, the maximum temperature is around 30°C, based on the high precipitation.

Comfortable temperature and a low amount of visitors since June is not a peak month of travelling, visit Yagon in June is a good idea. It’s also a good time to enjoy Myanmar’s landscapes on circular train. Along the way, you can explore the daily life of locals, peaceful villages and paddy fields.

A note that do not forget your umbrella or raincoat since sudden shower may occupy.

Mandalay - A hot raining season

In June, Mandalay is under a hot and humid month, when the temperature can reach to 34°C.

Cheaper travel expense may attract visitors to visit the province. It’s also the time of Chinlone Festival in Mahamuni Pagoda. Praying and playing chinlone (cane ball) are several interesting activities that you can take part in.

T-shirt and shorts are comfortable for hot days. However, if you would like to visit temples and pagodas, long-sleeved shirt and trouser are more suitable. Water shoes might be a good choice on rainy day. Do not forget your umbrella or raincoat.

Bagan - Rainy and hot

Locates on the hottest area of the country, it’s not a surprise that the temperature of Bagan in June can surpass 40°C (actually, it might be up to 44°C). The precipitation is about 72mm (2.8in).

The hot weather in June does not support outdoor activities, however, you can spend time exploring Shwezigon Pagoda - the oldest temple in Bagan. Nat spirit worship in Shwezigon is a thrilling experience to visitors.

Inle lake - Warm and Humid

Thanks to its location, the temperature in Inle Lake is lower than the rest of the country. Highest temperature is only 28°C and can decrease to lower than 20 at night. With 185mm (7.3 in) of average precipitation, the rain brings to Inle Lake a warm and humid weather.

Not being occupied with a large amount of tourists, many people prefer visiting Inle Lkae in June. Enjoy the lake view from the hall of Nga Phe Kyaung - the eldest monastery at Inle Lake, the vibe is so calm and peaceful.

T-shirt and short are perfect for the days, while thin coat and long-sleeved shirt is what you need for chilly nights. Do not forget your umbrella since there might be sudden shower.

Ngapali - It’s not a good time to visit

The heavy rain really impacts your plan to visit that pretty beach. Fewer flights and many resorts close bring no convenient to travel to and from the beach.

Pakokku Thiho Shin Temple Festival

This is the most important festival in Pakokku old town on the west bank of the Ayeyawady River. It is held on Nayon 8 and lasts for 15 days. The festival also has a country market, selling local specialties such as dried chili, tobacco, and various kinds of fiber bags. This is also the area where the best quality Tanaka tree is grown, the type of tree for making the traditional cosmetic skin protection of the people of Myanmar.

How to do and what to expect if travel to Myanmar in June

As you know, Myanmar now is in the rainy season. Showers are short-lived and you can easily find temporary shelter. So the rain won't have a major negative impact on your overall experience in major tourist destinations in Myanmar.

Almost beach resorts will not be opened, so this is not the right time for swimming.

Adventure activities such as biking or trekking are not recommended and traveling to the rural remote areas like the northeast can be slowed considerably. You still can go just about anyplace, but you will just spend more time.

During June, the number of visitors is low so, it is a good time to escape from the crowd and to enjoy promotion programs.

In short, if you plan to visit Myanmar this time then one week or ten days is enough for an easy holiday to the main highlights of the country and it should be a part of your holiday to this region.
