Cambodia - weather & travel conditions in March

Weather

The picture of weather in Cambodia during March is still quite bright with temperature being considered relatively mild though it tends to rise toward the end of the month since the hottest time is just around the corner.
Until May when the wet season starts here, all the places in the country now still in full mode of the dry weather with rains are very unusual.
Temperatures are slightly different from place to place but generally quite moderate with Phnom Penh around 33oC, Siam Reap at 34oC and Ratanakiri in the northeast at 32oC.
The south coast and beaches including Koh Kong, Sihanoukville and Kep are basking in bright sunshine and with full of beautiful sea breeze, very little or no rain. The temperature here is at around 32oC.

Events

International women’s day
Like in other communist influenced countries, this day also celebrated in Cambodia to honors women. This is the occasion for men to express their love for women in a way somewhat similar to a mixture of Mother's Day and Valentine's Day.

How to do and what to expect if travel to Cambodia in March

March remains a good time to visit Cambodia thought the temperature is expected to rise through the month as the hottest time of the year is just closed.
Adventure activities such as biking or trekking are not highly recommended as the heat may make it hard to manage. Easy pace, classic style of travel anyway, is a good choice during this time.
Until the rain comes, boat cruises on Tonle Sap and little rivers seem not very attempting.
Beaches in the south coast promise good swimming and relax and should be put at the end of the itinerary if you travel in Cambodia only.
Just dress loose fitting and drink enough water. Sun glasses, sun hat are needed and a noon break between your visits is highly advisable.
