Sule Pagoda

The 2500 years old Sule Pagoda is considered one of the holiest temples in Burma, located on Sule Pagoda Street, Yangon city, after the junction of Sule Pagoda and Mahabandoola.

Sule Pagoda has octagonal architecture inside out and there are 8 Buddha statues for 7 days a week (Wednesday - Buddha's day has 2 statues) in the pagoda, especially the interior details are decorated  and carved by unique sophisticated cultural motifs. The temple grounds have 10 large bells and large footprints made of marble and decorated with gold that represent the footprints of Buddha visiting the temple.

Located in the city center, visitors can easily travel by car or taxi to visit Sule Pagoda. If your hotel is in the center of Yangon, you can even walk here.
