Xeo Quyt

Located about 30km from the center of Cao Lanh city, Dong Thap province, the historical area combining Xeo Quyt ecological area will be an attractive destination for visitors to feel the beauty of the ancient forest with the wild natural landscape. This is a tourist destination imbued with the natural features of the Western jungle.

If you are from Hanoi or other destinations in the North or Central, you can fly to Ho Chi Minh or Can Tho, then travel by car to Xeo Quyt relic area (120 km from Sai Gon and 50 km from Can Tho). The natural beauty of the jungle is the interesting thing in Xeo Quyt that is also known for being a large nature reserve with an area of 50ha of forest and 20ha of Melaleuca forest. The old Melaleuca carpet and the populations of hyacinth and water hyacinth are nowadays almost no longer found in other areas of Dong Thap Muoi, excepts Tram Chim National Park. Besides, visitors will discover a diverse ecological environment with rich flora and fauna, including about 13 species recorded in the Vietnam Red Book. Take a dinghy through a small canal, the two sides are the wild beauty of the jungle and the birds singing make us feel secure. Along the canals, revolutionary bases are previously kept which is also called Xeo Quyt relic, a place that used to be the residence of former revolutionary soldiers. You will find many interesting things at this old base, from temporary houses to old kitchens, makeshift meeting houses to the bomb-destroyed places in the past.

In addition to historical experience, visitors can also participate in folk games such as chicken fighting, birds fighting, visiting the Southern market and enjoying delicious dishes in Dong Thap. Moreover, the boat also takes visitors to visit famous craft villages, listen to the lyrical songs and the folk music of the river.
